Abstract

The objective of the study is to substantiate the conceptual model of the synergy between digital competence and media literacy within the professional readiness structure of social studies teachers. The research methods include system analysis, modeling, comparative analysis of DigCompEdu and UNESCO frameworks, as well as qualitative analysis of didactic case studies. The results prove that integrating instrumental digital skills with critical media analysis creates a synergistic effect, forming a meta-competence – "teacher's digital media culture". Three levels of this synergy are identified: technological-analytical, cognitive-ethical, and productive-operational. The role of digital fact-checking, primary source verification, and bias analysis of artificial intelligence algorithms in teaching history and civics is demonstrated. The conclusions confirm the need to update professional development programs for teachers based on a synergistic approach to ensure students' epistemic resilience against hybrid information threats.
