The study aims to summarise the experience of developing a public analytical component of a national research information system and to assess its contribution to the transparency of the research sector in Ukraine. The methods include analysis of the regulatory framework, comparative analysis of international practices in visualising research information and monitoring open science, an analysis of the needs of target user groups, and aggregation and verification of data from state research procedures. The Science Data Portal was launched with three interactive dashboards covering the results of the state attestation of research institutions and universities, Ukrainian peer-reviewed journals, and the competition for doctoral research projects. The Portal covers data on 485 institutions, 1,302 journals, more than 19,000 editorial board members and 78 funded projects. The study concludes that public visualisation of verified administrative data increases the transparency of policy decisions and lays the groundwork for national open science monitoring.
