The purpose of the study is to determine the role of cloud technologies in the operation of open digital educational platforms and to develop a structural and functional model for their implementation. The research applies system and comparative analysis, generalization, structural decomposition, and functional modelling. A five-layer model of a cloud-based educational platform is proposed, including infrastructure, platform, service, integration, and user layers. A set of platform evaluation criteria is formulated, covering availability, scalability, interoperability, openness, fault tolerance, data protection, and economic efficiency. The combined use of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud service models for different functional components is substantiated. The results demonstrate that cloud architecture provides technological conditions for scalable access to open educational resources, integration of distributed information systems, reliable data storage, and reduction of educational institutions’ dependence on local computing infrastructure.
