The Slovak Current Research Information System (SK CRIS) integrates research information from multiple heterogeneous sources, which creates significant challenges for ensuring data completeness, accuracy and consistency. This paper summarizes practical experience with data quality management gained during the operation of SK CRIS and presents software-supported approaches to improving research information quality. Particular attention is paid to research projects, including batch data import, researcher–project matching, identification of incomplete and duplicate records, and data enrichment. The implemented solutions combine built-in validation mechanisms, API-based processing using Postman, batch processing of XLSX data and controlled vocabularies. It also explores the potential of artificial intelligence for assigning missing research fields based on project titles and abstracts. The results demonstrate that effective CRIS data quality management requires a combination of automated validation, data processing and enrichment tools with expert supervision and continuous monitoring.
