This article is dedicated to the analysis of the integration of the institutional repository of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky (ELAKPI) with the international CORE platform, as well as the assessment of challenges, practices, and prospects for scaling this integration at the national level. The focus is on KPI, as it serves as the national coordinator of Ukrainian activities with CORE, leading the URCORE community and acting as a model for other universities. The article examines technical aspects of integration, including metadata standardization, the use of OAI-PMH protocols, and automated data exchange, organizational models of repository administration, and practical implementation results. Both actual and expected effects of the integration are presented, including increased visibility of publications, improved metadata quality, and the creation of a replication effect for other Ukrainian universities. Lessons learned are discussed, which can be applied to scaling open research infrastructure and integrating national repositories into the global open science ecosystem.
